The Diary of a First Time Mom of Twins: Reading & Spirituality

Microsoft Excel

I promised myself that I would read to my sons every night. And we spend a great deal of Saturdays at the Barnes and Noble trying to scour the children’s section for the best books. My boys have a pretty good collection so far if I do say so myself. But reading Dr. Seuss and Eric Carle books every night can get a bit cumbersome, as they are long and full of tongue twisters.

So I asked myself “what is the most amazing story known to man?” … “The Bible, of course.” So we have begun reading at least two chapters every night. I have really enjoyed sharing this book with them. They reach for it and it warms my hear because their middle names are “David and Daniel”, (I like to think they are experiencing a special connection; then they proceed to try to put it in their mouths. Nevertheless, reading to my sons, teaching and sharing with them about Jesus Christ is one of the most sacred jobs I will have to do in my entire life. It’s a little bit overwhelming but I am not afraid of the gospel of christ.

I’ll keep you posted on how long it takes to read the whole thing!
