Happy 30th Birthday Martin!

Dear Martin,

I am so proud of the man you are becoming. You are an amazing father, great partner and most days ๐Ÿ˜œ, I feel blessed to be a witness to your life! Thank you for loving me and our children. Here’s to accomplishing and walking in Gods purpose for the rest of our lives ๐Ÿ˜˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜š!

Ok enough of the mushy stuff ๐Ÿคฃ! This past weekend I threw a semi suprise party for my husband. For those of you that don’t know surprising Martin is literally almost harder than giving birth because he is so picky, particular and nosey๐Ÿ˜’.  I really just wanted him to enjoy himself, so I halfway gave away the surprise in order to help me gain some insight/ gauge if I was on the right track in my planning. He knew that a party was being planned but knew not the day, time/ hour or any specifics.

The boys and I were running around hopping in and out of the car on Friday trying to get the last of the decorations for the party (can you imagine, buckling and unbuckling seatbelts and dragging two little children who want every single toy they see๐Ÿ˜ฉ, oy vey)! But we made it๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿฝ! I’m so happy with how everything turned out. I think everybody had a great time (despite my short dissappearance (had to catch my babysitter) and I know he had a great time as well.

Here are some photos capturing the event!

The Diary of a First Time Mom of Twins: Riding with the Boys and Song Requests

I swear I do not make this stuff up on the way home from school today this was my son:โ€‹โ€‹

I could not help but smile really big and wonder where in the world did he hear this song (I Feel it Coming by The Weeknd feat. Daft Punk) and how on earth did he know the words? Because I promise this was my first time even hearing it. Needless to say it was his dads doing “Oh yea he loves that song, we listened to it when you were at chapter meeting๐Ÿ™„!”

After the song was over he made me play it again, then proceeded to say “ok Micah your turn”. Micah then proceeded to tell me to play Bruno Mars, “Uptown Funk” and after that he told me to play “A little More Jesus” and “Help” by Erica Campbell. They sang and danced and I couldn’t help but think that my children make me so happy๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ‘ฆ๐Ÿฝ๐Ÿ‘ฆ๐Ÿฝ.

The Diary of a First Time Mom of Twins: DIY Project- Chalk Board

I wish I did a before picture so you could see but my phone was upstairs and I had already gone down the rabbit hole of beginning to spray paint. My heart dropped when I started with a black line on my beautiful, clean white wall, kind of like my freshman year in college when I decided to cut my hair into that asymmetrical bob like Kelis’ from the “Bossy” video.๐Ÿ˜ฉ

However, just like I declared in that moment when the stylist razored the left side of my head, “don’t worry your hair will grow back”. If I f***ed up this wall it could be painted back to its original state. So I took a deep breath in, exhaled and pressed on as if I was tagging a New York City subway for millions to see!

For added dimension I took a frame my husband brought home and removed the glass/ staples and hung it around the chalkboard paint. I also hung a vintage mailbox I got from Hobby Lobby over the weekend, to help organize Martin’s paperwork (he’s a hoarded) lol:).

When the boys woke up and went downstairs this morning directly from Mason’s mouth (dramatic pauses and all) “WOOWWW; that is SOOO COOOOOL” ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ‘ฆ๐Ÿฝ๐Ÿ‘ฆ๐Ÿฝ!!! Made me feel good. Even though I didn’t have everything I needed, the biggest thing was painters tape (free handed the lines). Nevertheless, I think it came out pretty well, because my son said so๐Ÿ˜œ! #oww
